A Memorable Visit to Punjab

Charu Khanna
Visited: Jan 16, 2007

I visited Punjab, the king city, as it is a favourite destination for those who love to have yummy cuisines and want to be close to nature. Punjab is perfect for knowing Indian culture, especially that of North India and provides opportunity to become a part of its vivid culture. Various religious places like Gurudwaras and Mandirs can be visited. One of the best known temples that I visited is the Golden Temple Amritsar.

On my visit to Punjab, I saw the famous 'Bhangara' dance that is performed in various mela around Baisakhi. Here, people dressed in various colours were feat to my eyes. Also, if you are a night bird, various discs of Chandigarh can offer you the best of music.
I myself visited some of the discs.
Patiala and Wagah Border are famous tourist destinations. I got to see the Wagah Border that separates India from Pakistan. Here, I actually got to see and talk to Indian Army officers and learn about the relations of the two countries. Moreover, I found the people of the state to be warm and innocent. Their friendly spirit actually made many my good friends. When I went there, I was a stranger but now I have many friends there, whom I can call and rely upon.
