Experience Shared by the Traveller
Traveling through Rajasthan, has been a very learning experience for me as each destination unveiled new mysteries and heart throbbing adventures. Mandawa, for example, still retains paintings that are well protected in the walls of the Havelis and houses of Mandawa. I still have an album full of pictures of frescoes of this place. The havelis with their vast inner courtyards are haunting, but has lot to offer to aspirants trying to discover newer facts. I myself discovered some new styles of mural paintings. Moreover, the interaction with Bisnoi tribes, a unique tribal community, was indeed an insight to the tribal culture and systems. During my trip to the Brahma temple of Pushkar, I noticed hundreds of gold coins ingrained on its marbled floor with the donor's name printed on them. This gave me a fair idea of the hierarchical division of people of the region. Visiting Taj was exciting, but I was hurt to find the walls pricked at some places that previously were adorned with precious jewels. I personally would like to thank my tour operators for taking me to the big markets of Rajasthan. I still treasure with me an emerald and a blue pottery that I purchased from the local markets of Jaipur and Karauli.
