Kashmir is undoubtedly one of the savor faire and buzz
destinations that have always prompted me to make a visit. But to be in
Kashmir also requires lot of guts due to an inherent fear of militancy. I
still was courageous enough and headed on to visit Kashmir with my friends.
On arrival I found this place to be totally different from what I have heard
about it before. I realized it is media hype that creates all sorts of
buffs, Kashmir is still safe, serene and a haven on earth, I was always
surrounded by the mist, clouds, snow-clad mountains set an imposing view of
nature's wonder creations. The Dal Lake is always special. During my Kashmir
Tour, I undertook Shikara boat cruise in this lake and it is very
fascinating, as this place is picturesque and it becomes possible to take
breadth-taking views of surrounding valleys. It is also very cozy to spend
the nights in the warmth of houseboats, as the houseboats provide a very
special treat to this exclusive Kashmir Tour package. Outside the comforts
of houseboats, there is also the very exciting horse ride to Thajiwas
Glacier that is known to remain covered with snow all round the year. The
memory of skiing in the Thajiwas Glacier still fascinates me. It is real
fun.
