Lying in a broad, fertile valley dominated by the western ghat, Kerala's architecture is noteworthy for the blending of elements from several cultures that have evolved over many centuries. Backwaters being the most fascinating aspect of Kerala, once you are here, you will find it hard to tear yourself away and return to the hustle and bustle of the large cities. Backwaters are the accumulation of Sea Water at the sea beach during the to-fro motion of sea-waves in the form of lagoons, estuaries etc. Today, Kerala Backwaters has become the most exciting tourist spot in India.

Major Backwater Destination
Kolam / Quilon : It is said that Quilon is the place where backwaters of Kerala starts. It is 72 km away from Trivandrum and is fairly important for the State's trade and commerce. It is the center of the country's cashew trading and processing industry.
