There are as many as 38 states, in country of India, while 7 union territories. The major difference between a state and an union territory is that while the states have their own elected representatives to govern the state affairs, union territories are controlled directly by central government via Lieutenant-Governor, an administrator appointed by President of India. 7 Union territories include the regions like Andaman and nicobar islands, Chandigarh, Dadra and nagar haveli, Daman and diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Puducherry. All of these territories have been major hub of tourism bustling with the crowds formed by the tourists all through the year.
