The picturesque Durgam Cheruvu, called the secret lake, lay hidden for many years between Jubilee Hills and Madhapur near Hyderabad till roads were built to make it accessible. Beautified with artificial waterfalls, a rock garden and a floating fountain, the lake is ideal for a relaxing day of boating, fishing and picnicking. The more adventurous visitors have the option of trekking, rock climbing and camping. An amphitheatre, an art gallery and a sculptor park for artists offer an alternative way to relax for the artistically inclined visitors. The granite rock face of the area are said to be found only here in all of Asia, and attract many nature and rock lovers. Tourists can indulge in rappelling and have great adrenaline rush. During rein of Qub Shahi Dynasty, this lake used to serve as the prime source for drinking waters for the people living in Golkonda Fort. This lake is situated within periphery of Rangreddy district.
